LED lighting and its applications through intelligent management systems continue to form an essential part of our analysis, and the first section where people who start betting on the smart home usually start is precisely lighting, but ... What happens if this lighting acquires new nuances and loses its limits? Well, products such as the Nanoleaf Light Panels and their Rhythm Edition are created.
This time we effectively have Nanoleaf lighting panels with the Rhythm Edition system and we are going to analyze it in depth so that you can illuminate and redecorate your space gamer, work area or whatever you want.
As always, we will cover as much information as possible so that you do not miss absolutely anything and have in your hands all the necessary data to seriously contemplate its acquisition. We will start as always with the materials and the design to finish with an opinion of what our final experience has been testing the Nanoleaf Light Panels - Rhythm Edition. Stay with us because we are going there. You can get this product at Amazon from this link, or directly on your page website.
Materials and design: Nanoleaf is quality assured
Nanoleaf has been producing different versions of a product for a few years now that has given the brand the fame it has, which is precisely why they cannot neglect relevant details such as the packaging design, the instructions and of course the quality of the materials. As soon as we receive the package we are surprised by the weight it has, the reality is that it is not little. It comes well presented with plenty of information and in a 100% recyclable box. We find inside the control knob and a relevant detail, we have two different cables for the current, the Spanish and another British, in this they have decided not to skimp, both of white color and with approximately one meter in length. The left area is presided over by the power supply that extends the control knob and the cable, they will give us together an important length that will not pose problems of location. All these elements are made of white plastic that makes a good first impression.
- Package content:
- 9 x LED panels
- 28 x mounting tapes
- 9 x linkers
- 2 x network cables (ESP and UK)
- Rhythm module
- Controller
We have another extra remote control, which we can place wherever we want and which has a button, this remote control is attached by means of the connector cards to the LED panel that we want. These cards are called "Linkers" and we have nine of them, like the panels, triangular in shape and separated from each other by small onion-paper protectors that will serve as templates to create drawings. Each of these LED triangles has three connections, one for each side of the geometric shape, using the linkers is how we are going to form the figures. Finally, we have 28 mounting tapes that will allow us to adhere the LED panels wherever we want, they are essentially double-sided adhesive tape. We have a small instruction book and a Nanoleaf sticker as a detail.
Technical characteristics of the panels
Each of the Light Panels is made of plastic on both sides and has dimensions of 25 x 25 x 1 centimeters. In turn, they offer a total power of 900 lumens, more than enough for a normal room such as an office, a "gamer" room or even the living room, since this lighting is always going to be understood as ambient. However, we should not think that they offer little light, on the contrary, you will probably find it annoying to use them at 100% of their light capacity. We have panels RGBW LEDs capable of offering up to 16,7 million colors, to which white is added. These panels can be interconnected with each other up to a maximum of thirty units, there is nothing. In our case we are testing the Starter Pack of 9 units, but different expansion packs can be purchased to obtain the desired results.
These panels have an index of protection IP00 which should be sufficient for the usual dust or humidity in a house. For its part, the durability of the lighting is rated by the company itself at around 25.000 hours of continuous useor, there is nothing. At the configuration level, we can manage between the 2.200K and 6.000K of lighting temperature for each panel, for fans of warm white and neutral white.
Application management and compatibility
As is usual in this type of product, we first have an application that will allow us to easily install and configure the device. This application is completely free and can be downloaded using a QR code included in the package. This application has a great variety of ideas and different lighting, we just have to follow a few simple steps and see how Nanoleaf sets the scene for our stay. These options presented to us:
- Basic: Choose default and basic colors, as well as regulate intensity and operation.
- Color: Here we will be able to choose a series of adjustable colors for each of the panels, that is, independently select which color each panel displays.
- Rhythm: With the sensor we will be able to activate sound detection and show predetermined effects based on it.
- Others: How could it be otherwise, we will be able to establish a programming system and go to the community to innovate at its disposal.
Regarding the compatibility with virtual assistants, it should be noted that Nanoleaf allows almost all of them, we have the possibility of linking them to: Amazon Alexa; Google Home; Apple HomeKit and IFTTT, all this quickly and easily through the application. Telling Alexa to turn on our Nanoleaf and show some predetermined colors is a luxury that could not be missing in a device like this.
Editor's opinion
Worst
Cons
- The application can be improved
- It is not affordable from an economic point of view
- Does not bring spare parts
We always start with what we liked least. In this case, what poses the most problems for me is the fact that the assembly under what circumstances can it become the lastBy this I mean, removing the panel once it is mounted and adhered to the wall is not easy at all, which can lead to marks in the long run. For its part, I did not like it too much application which could be more complete, despite the fact that this is compensated by the compatibility in virtual assistants.
Best
Pros
- Materials quality
- Compatibility with almost all virtual assistants
- Power and colorful lighting
- Very easily expandable
The best is the infinite possibility of combination, the quality of the materials presented and of course the fact that it can work with Alexa, Google Assistant and HomeKit, you will not miss absolutely anything.

You can get it from 214 euros in this link Amazon. While it is true, this is a fairly "niche" product, which will look good in work areas, but can be strident under what circumstances.
